Software Engineer

Henry Schein Medical Systems – MicroMD has an entry-level full time position available for a software engineer. This position will design and implement commercial medical software in a team environment. This position will develop and produce requisite analysis, specification and design deliverables and participate in coding and code reviews for the final product.
Responsibilities include:
- Be accountable for agreed upon development schedule
- Participate in various aspects of application development as assigned (including analysis, design, programming, code review, documentation and testing)
- Analyze and correct existing code base in a timely and accurate fashion
- Provide status reports when required
- Assist technical support and development team in solving programming-related problems
- Other duties/roles as assigned
Requirements:
- 1+ years professional software development experience (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant major desired
- Proficiency with client-server development
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and object-oriented database design
- Experience with PowerBuilder, SQL and Visual Studio is preferred, .NET a plus
- Knowledge of programming for the web and object-oriented client-server development is essential
- Proficiency in Web development, .NET development, scripting, C# and/or Javascript is a plus
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Good decision making and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in teams and independently
- Professional appearance and presentation
