Keith Slater headshot

Keith Slater, Vice President, General Manager


Keith Slater, joined Henry Schein MicroMD as vice president, general manager in early 2009 and is responsible for overseeing company-wide customer care, support, training and product implementation initiatives.

Slater joined the company with nearly 25 years of experience in the healthcare technology field. Most recently, he served as the vice president of physician software services for MED3000, where he led development teams that delivered services to customers such as implementation and training, database administration, custom reporting and data warehousing. Prior to MED3000, he spent 11 years with Misys Healthcare Systems serving in various senior-level positions.

Slater received his bachelor degree in computer information systems from Youngstown State University.

Paul Hido headshot

Paul Hido, Chief Financial Officer


Paul Hido, an experienced financial veteran with more than 20 years of experience, joined Henry Schein MicorMD in 2008. Hido is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial strategy and operations, as well as leading the organization’s HR and staffing functions.

Hido previously held a number of senior financial roles at large manufacturing companies including Worthington Steel and American Axle & Manufacturing, a Fortune 500 company. Hido began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Company.

Hido, a certified public accountant, has taught accounting and finance courses as an adjunct professor at two Ohio based colleges, Walsh University and Kent State University. He received his M.B.A. with an emphasis in finance from the University of Michigan and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

Ron Szmara headshot

Ron Szmara, Client Services Support Manager


Joining the Henry Schein MicroMD team in 2003, Szmara brings more than 20 years of healthcare IT experience. As Client Services Support Manager, Szmara ensures maximum resolution of software application issues in the minimalist amount of time possible. Managing a team of support personnel who work together to troubleshoot application issues, Szmara is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed and ultimately corrected.

Prior to joining Henry Schein MicroMD, Szmara was the billing and distribution manager for Attlee Health Resources, a medical supply company located in Middleburg Heights, OH.

Szmara studied engineering technology from Youngstown State University. He also is a Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP). Szmara is a member of the HDI IT Service and Technical Support Community as well as the Call Centre Management organization. Szmara has been an active member of the American Purchasing Society for more than 20 years.

Scott Donnachie headshot

Scott Donnachie, Project Implementation and Customer Client Training Manager


Bringing nearly 18 years of customer support and technical project management skills including support desk management and employee training, Scott Donnachie provides key client service and training insight to Henry Schein MicroMD. As project implementation and customer client training manager, his responsibilities involve overseeing software implementation, project and practice management as well as leading company-wide training initiatives.

Prior to joining Henry Schein MicroMD, Donnachie served as manager of implementations for FedComp Software Company, based in Fairfax, VA. While at FedComp, he managed project implementation as well as supervised their technical support call center team, in which he successfully increased the first-time call resolution to 94.5%. Donnachie has also held project management and training positions with other software companies such as GBS Computer Solutions, SmartStep Solutions as well as founded his own training consulting company called, William Scott Training Consulting Services.

Donnachie received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University where he majored in finance.

With more than 33 years of healthcare experience, David Hacker brings significant expertise in medical software sales and marketing to Henry Schein MicroMD. As sales manager, he is responsible for all direct sales and management of area sales managers.

Hacker brings a proven track record in increasing sales as well as vast knowledge in the healthcare IT arena. Prior to joining the Henry Schein MicroMD sales team, Hacker was the director of sales at Integritas, Inc where under his leadership the company successfully doubled its sales. Prior to Integritas, he was responsible for the management of hospital business development for Ingenix, a healthcare information and research company based on Eden Prairie, MN. Hacker has also held management positions with other healthcare IT based companies such as LaNtek, Alteer, National Medical Enterprise and NCS Healthcare.

Hacker attended Illinois State University where he studied industrial technology.

Doug Holt, Value Added Reseller Channel Manager


Doug Holt is a seasoned reseller channel veteran who brings years of healthcare IT expertise to Henry Schein MicroMD. As the Value Added Reseller Channel Manager, Doug is responsible for managing relationships with our Value Added Resellers (VARs). Prior to joining Henry Schein MicroMD, Holt served as the Director of Business Development for Healthport, the nation’s largest provider of ROI services and audit management and tracking technology. Prior to that, Doug was responsible for managing alternate sales channels with Lanier Healthcare, include telemarketing, internet sales and VARs. Holt has also held management positions with Compaq Computer Corporation and IBM.

Holt received his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Kristen Heffernan headshot

Kristen Heffernan, Marketing Manager


Kristen Heffernan, marketing manager, focuses on overseeing the marketing of Henry Schein MicroMD Practice Management and EMR software, while working to develop partnerships with healthcare facilities that seek to improve patient care and operational efficiencies. As a marketing manager, Heffernan is also responsible for helping clients grow their practices, drive customer purchasing behavior and stay ahead of competitors.

Heffernan previously was the marketing manager at Locum Medical Group, a physician staffing firm, where she led the marketing department in planning and executing national online and traditional marketing initiatives to generate revenue, expand business, and build long-term relationships with healthcare clients and physician candidates. She has also held a number of marketing positions across a variety of business-to-business segments over the past 11 years.

Heffernan earned her M.B.A. in marketing from University of Phoenix. She received her bachelor of science degree in industrial organizational psychology from John Carroll University, OH.

Don Quackenbush headshot

Don Quackenbush, Director of Product Management


Don Quackenbush, director of product management, is responsible for new product rollouts for Henry Schein MicroMD. Don has been involved in physician practice information management since 1987, first with practice management software and later with electronic heatlh records. Don maintains the Henry Schein MicroMD Product Roadmap, which details development objectives for upcoming versions. His team is responsible for keeping up with industry requirements, trends and deadlines.

Prior to joining the company in spring of 2008, Don had over 20 years of experience in the industry in various roles including sales, implementation, customer support and product management. Don received his bachelor of science degree in finance from Siena College, Loudonville, NY.

Shawn Kelley headshot

Shawn Kelley, Technical Services Manager


Shawn Kelly joined the Henry Schein MicroMD team in 1999 immediately following his graduation from Youngstown State University where he received his bachelors of science degree in applied science, majoring in computer information systems.

Starting as an entry level IT technician, Kelley has worked his way up through the company to now being the technical services manager. Kelley is responsible for leading the IT team in its maintenance of internal IT and for the design of the Henry Schein MicroMD network architecture. He also directs the installation services team, which is responsible for the development of installations, updates and upgrades of the MicroMD software line.

During his 12 years with Henry Schein MicroMD, Kelley has played a key role in developing and launching multiple Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records software systems. Most recently, Kelley has been a key figure in the development and design of MicroMD Hosted, an ASP environment which enables clients to connect to their software from virtually anywhere."
